Orange Farm, South Africa
(20 – 21 August 2008)
In partnership with JAM (Joint Aid Management), Eden installed a SoyCow in the Orange Farm area. The SoyCow formed the base of a Community Business Venture called “Nambitha Nutritional Products”. The business showed a profit of R900 on the first batch of Soy foods and Soy drinks produced and is currently supplying nutritional soy products to local crèche’s and Old Age Homes. Shamva , Zimbabwe
(22 – 25 August 2008)
In conjunction with the HUMANA People to People Organization, Shamva (approximately 85km North-East of Harare) was identified as a suitable area for the installation of a VitaGoat system. The VitaGoat system enabled the people of this community to have access to affordable & sustainable nutrition. The project coincided with a training project in Shamva whereby small scale farmers were trained in the planting of soy beans, good farming methods and the utilizing of such crops. A group of 8 people from the settlement attended the training and with an abundance of enthusiasm mastered the VitaGoat concept quickly. The VitaGoat system installed at Shamva supplies Soy drinks and Soy foods to 400 hundred children daily thus relieving the effect of the food shortages. In view of the critical food shortages in Zimbabwe, the VitaGoat will play a vital, ongoing role in supplying nutrition to the communities surrounding Shamva.

Beira, Mozambique
(14 – 16 October 2008)
After the successful installation of a VitaGoat in Zimbabwe; the HUMANA People to People Organization, ADPP Farmers Club Project, Malnutrition Matters and Eden combined forces to facilitate the installation of a VitaGoat system at Lamego, Mozambique. Most of Mozambique’s communities are inherently farming communities which made the installation of a VitaGoat system in Mozambique ideal in regards to a constant supply of raw materials to process using the VitaGoat system. The training group of this project consisted of 35 eager members. The people of Mozambique are recovering of recent war activities and access to proper nutrition is challenging; the installation of the VitaGoat system made proper nutrition available to Lamego and the surrounding communities that are still bearing the consequences of the war.

Kamina , Democratic Republic of Congo
(13 – 17 April 2009)
Eden installed 2 VitaGoat systems, commissioned by UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) & Malnutrition Matters in Kamina, DRC Congo. The people of the DRC have been greatly affected by the ongoing war - making access to proper nutrition very challenging. The country has excellent soil for planting of soy. The group has planted and harvested their own soy, which is very meaningful in utilizing the nutritional value of the VitaGoat food processing equipment with immediate effect. The soy foods produced from these systems will be the main source of reliable and adequate source of protein for this community. Meat protein is expensive and limited. Kamina has a population of and another 5 VitaGoat units are awaiting installation.
